What to expect from an Online Creative Writing Lesson
-
60 minutes -Educational Roleplaying Game
In each Educational Roleplaying Game experience students are immersed in a rich and detailed world. Our adventures demonstrate the key ingredients of good storytelling: an engaging introduction, compelling characters, vibrant settings, a confident structure and obviously, a satisfying conclusion! The opportunity to engage in these adventures as a game, rather than as a story that they passively experience, teaches students how to put what they’ve learnt into their own creative writing.
We focus on:
Sensory Description
Plot Developement
Narrative Structure
Character Development
-
30 minutes - Classroom Exercises
In each lesson we do worksheets specifically based around what we’ve just achieved in our adventure. Many students tend to spend much of their writing time thinking of an idea, and too little time actually writing it. In our lessons, students write about their adventures, allowing us to focus on teaching the specific techniques of good writing, and making their stories feel as real as our adventures.
Some areas of our focus:Describing a Setting
Describing a Character
Character Growth
Different Types of Introductions
Inspired and Fulfilling Conculsions
Similes, metaphors, and other literary techniques

Homework (Encouraged)
We ask students to keep an Adventure Journal where we practice writing using the events of our story. Different lessons will require using different storytelling skills. We understand that not all students will be able to complete homework every lesson, but we encourage students to take the opportunity to flex their skills whenever possible. FezEd is happy to provide detailed feedback and encouragement for all budding writers who wish to practice their creative skills outside of our lessons.
We at FezEd can’t wait to hear from you!
